Terms of Service

Last updated: April 26, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Benzy Security, including the Discord bot, the web dashboard at dashboard.benzy.lol, the iOS app, and the website at benzy.lol (together, the "Service", "we", "our", "us"). By inviting the bot to your Discord server, signing in to the dashboard, or installing or using the iOS app, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service, in accordance with Discord's Terms of Service.

If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

Use of the Service must also comply with all Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

2. Use of the Service

You may invite and use the bot on your Discord server(s) and use the dashboard or iOS app provided you comply with these Terms.

You agree not to exploit, abuse, or misuse the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Attempting to disable, disrupt, or interfere with its functionality
  • Using the Service for illegal, harmful, or malicious purposes
  • Attempting to reverse engineer, duplicate, or redistribute the Service without permission
  • Attempting to access or modify another community's data, or another user's session, without authorization

We reserve the right to add, remove, or modify features at any time.

3. User data and privacy

The Service collects only the data necessary to operate the moderation, logging, case management, snapshot, and authentication features. The categories of data collected, how they are used, where they are stored, and your rights over them are described in our Privacy Policy at benzy.lol/privacy.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with any third party other than Discord itself, which is necessary for the bot to function. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or third-party crash reporting SDK.

If you opt in to Face ID, Touch ID, or Optic ID in the iOS app, all biometric matching is performed entirely on-device by iOS. We never receive, see, or store your biometric data.

4. Moderation, enforcement, and server-owner duties

The bot may perform automated moderation actions (kicks, bans, message deletions, quarantines, etc.) based on the rules and features that you, as the server owner, have explicitly enabled in your community settings. The dashboard and iOS app are staff tools for reviewing those actions and managing cases. None of these features are turned on for your server until you enable them.

As the server owner, you are responsible for:

  • Configuring which Discord roles are allowed to run which bot slash commands. Slash commands ship with a default permission of "Administrator only"; you can override this per-command in your Discord server's Integrations settings, but the security implications of any changes you make are your responsibility.
  • Configuring the case-management role permissions in the dashboard, including which roles have case access at all and which have admin-level case privileges
  • Reviewing the audit log of dashboard and mobile changes (settings updates, log rescinds) and investigating anything that looks unexpected
  • Removing the bot or revoking staff member access promptly when a staff member leaves your team

The bot performs best-effort detection and enforcement. New attack patterns emerge constantly. You should not rely on the bot as your sole moderation strategy: human moderators and other defensive layers (Discord's own AutoMod, verification gates, etc.) remain essential.

We are not responsible for moderation actions taken by the bot when those actions are the result of configurations you (or your staff) chose, including configurations that are overly aggressive or that miss real threats.

5. Mobile app

The iOS app is an additional surface for using the same staff features available on the dashboard, with the same Discord OAuth login. Installing the app does not grant any new access — it only re-uses the permissions you already have on the relevant community's main server through Discord.

Biometric authentication is opt-in. If you decline, the app falls back to the natural Discord token lifetime (approximately 7 days) before requiring you to sign in again. If you opt in, the app re-locks after 15 minutes of inactivity and requires a fresh Discord sign-in at least every 30 days.

Uninstalling the iOS app removes the locally stored tokens but does not delete any server-side community data. Removing the bot from the relevant Discord servers is the way to delete community data — see the next section.

6. Data on bot removal

When the bot is removed from the last Discord server in your community, all of that community's data is deleted from our database via cascade deletion. This includes logs, cases, evidence, transcripts, snapshots, sticky-message configurations, reminders, quarantine state, and audit-log entries.

Deletion is automatic and final. If you want to keep any of that data — for example, transcripts or case records — export or copy it from the dashboard before removing the bot.

7. Availability and service changes

We make no guarantees of uptime or uninterrupted service. The bot, dashboard, and iOS app may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen incidents.

We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently suspend the Service without notice. Updates, bug fixes, or maintenance may occur at any time.

8. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as-is" and "as-available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We are not liable for any damages, losses, or disputes arising from the use or inability to use the Service. This includes damages caused by automated moderation actions taken under rules or configurations you (or your staff) chose, even if those rules turn out to have been mis-configured.

We do not guarantee that the Service will detect or prevent every form of attack, raid, or malicious activity. New attack methods emerge regularly and the Service is one defensive layer among several you should use.

Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, without notice, if you violate these Terms.

You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your server, signing out of the dashboard, and uninstalling the iOS app.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update or revise these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the new version here.

Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
